The Abilene Paradox - workplace groupthink

now on video - a further exploration of the workplace groupthink we have seen developing to catastrophic levels in our organisations.

First published on the Fair Job YouTube Channel on the 3rd June and in May in its written format here Richard (CJ Strachan) - who is in need of a haircut, discusses the original article and the dangers of groupthink in the workplace and in deed in any organisation and why you need to learn how to recognise it, appreciate the circumstances that lead to it and what to do about it when it manifests.
’Groupthink’ is known as ‘The Abilene Paradox’ in organisational behaviour studies and this is actually a more useful definition as, unlike ‘groupthink’ it has been specifically categorised and studied and lacks the ‘culture war’ baggage of the Orwellian word.
