"Amelia", and the eternal problem of the State trying to be “down with the kidz” as the latest attempt to 'nudge' teenagers just backfired spectacularly.
This begs the old question: have these 'creators' never been teenagers themselves? It can't have been that long ago ... Or perhaps they've totally blocked the memories of their own past, which is a disturbing sign regarding their general 'mental health' ...
(I remember mine perfectly well - and you've described the main points excellent. It doesn't matter that I grew up without internet, never mind memes or smartphones: these general teenie attitudes haven't changed, never will change and are indeed part of growing up.)
I edit these on the hoof so if you spot any bo boos please let me know.
This is an excellent essay. Recommend you revise for spelling and grammar. Cheers.
Great piece, C.J.! I've been following this story with much more amusement than perhaps is appropriate, but it's hard not to laugh
There are some typos again:
ham-fisted attemtp -> attempt
turisms -> truisms
a worthy attempt to educated teenagers -> educate
I assume 'twatterati' is an intentional knock. 😂
It is indeed!
Criticism fit to be applied to the stilted intellectual dwarves of the current Labour government...
