Just remember that the Norwegians has recently built a complete tunnel for less money than the UK government paid for the ecological reports for the new Thames tunnel.

Then ministers wonder where our money has gone.

Another kick in the teeth? It's a wonder the North has any teeth left to kick.🤔. People living in the London bubble need to remember that the wealth of this nation was built on industry and hard work, not foreign banks and the arts. If you look at just how much is spent on subsidising transport and the arts in London, compared to the North East, it's disgusting.

I remember watching a report on London transport and a resident saying " every morning I wonder which way shall I travel to work today, so many choices."

It made my blood boil! They're the same swine trying to make us Northerners give up our cars, Norfolk enchants mate!

When industries, fisheries and coal mines close, entire communities are left gutted. All we are given is the odd couple of million for a new football stadium or some arts project where the top jobs go to, you guessed it, not locals that's for sure.

Even when exciting archaeological treasures are found in the North, they disappear off into the greedy maw of the Gigantic black hole of London. We get thrown the odd crumb. Don't get me started on the "Year of culture", what a F*cking gravy train that is.

Can I just say that, as an inhabitant of Kent, we don't want this frigging tunnel! It is a total waste of money and a hugely environmentally destructive future traffic jam. The M20 was built through pristine countryside to take the continental lorry traffic off the A2/M2 and up to the M25 to join the Dartford tunnel. This new monstrosity will mean the lorrys will start going back up and down the A2/M2 if there is any sign of Operation Brock or congestion at Dartford. The A2 around Gravesend has been widened so often it's bigger than most motorways and always full of speeding vehicles and convoys of lorrys. This tunnel will just make it all worse but nobody listens to the locals do they?

Likewise, the transport links between Sheffield and Manchester consist of an hourly, four coach train service, and two winding single carriageway roads, the Woodhead and Snake Passes, which converge into one road on the approach to Manchester, at two sets of traffic lights.

Needless to say there is almost always a traffic jam at this location. There are now rumours that the Snake Pass may shut, since without central government funding, Derbyshire council has insufficient funds to maintain a stretch of it with challenging geology (it is not even classified as a 'Trunk' road..).

Maybe we should swap them: investment for water. London's got the cash, but without piped in water, per head of population they're technically a desert.

Unfortunately, much of the A1 south of Dunbar is still cart-track.

I did warn about this. 48 billion for London projects only. The northeast is always last in the pile. Just look at the same Kabour MP for Newcastle. Once again trying to stop Newcastle United New stadium. She did the same when the PFI Dubia was buying Newcastke United. Time some one challenged her for the MP. Job. You cannot have a person who does everything tovstop investments. Then look at her party supporting solar panels being built in China by forced labour.
