There's a general point coming out here - that this is beyond pornography - that we are presenting a global online monoculture which is over 30% pornography and the rest of which presents greed, sexualisation of women, instant gratification. Our caveman brains are developed to survive encounters with Sabre Toothed Tigers, our institutions and faiths are medieval and our technology both space aged and terrifying. Educated westerners show themselves every bit as easy to manipulate and with the cusp of an AI revolution - that should concern us all.

Education is critical - education that what you see online is rarely the whole story: that the image of life painted online is as fictional as any Marvel movie.

It's going to be critically important to improve the ability of everyone, everywhere, to think critically. How you do this is another question entirely when the rewards for manipulating others are so high.

I don't think you actually understand what it means to live in a third world country. I just— you have no idea how bad things are. Imagine the worst form of your government you can think of, and you haven't even begun to understand what it's like. People are leaving because things are seriously hard. I, myself, and every other young person I met wants to leave because our institutions are specifically designed to work against us. We'd prefer to stay here, but nobody is ready to starve to death for patriotism, especially from a country that feels like it hates you. The idea is always that since things always seem to be working out for you guys, people from these kinds of societies want to go to where things aren't so hard, where life isn't a series of frustrated efforts at improving your quality of life. I assure you— there is plenty of domestic porn and countless opportunities for sex in these countries too. People are looking for opportunities to better their lives, and I'm pretty sure the disappointment stems from encountering institutional problems preventing them from achieving that better quality of life in Europe. I just— really, you think the promise of sex with white people is enough to go through the insane stress of migration? Really?
